Monday was Pam's funeral. Rob took a half day off of work so that he could watch Gabriel while my Mom and I picked up my Nana and went. I'll be posting specifics over on the private section of my journal soon.

Tuesday morning was the burial. Rob took the whole day off of work. Information on that will also be posted privately.

Tuesday afternoon we took my Mom over to Sam's Club so she could see what it was like and check out what they had in the way of computers. We then headed over to Best Buy which had a much better selection. Her laptop is from 2003 and is now nicknamed "zombie" because it's barely working. While her computer is slow online due to having dial up, it's also slow when not online because, well, it's a zombie. Our desktop is also from 2003 and I have a feeling that might not last much longer either.

She ended up getting a new Vaio and a printer. She also got some paper for the printer and extra ink and a memory stick. The memory stick we're putting pictures on (more on that later). She also ended up buying Gabriel his very own computer. He knows how to work one, type words in, play games, etc. and every day Gabriel and I fight over the laptop. Now he has his own. It's a super small HP netbook. He loves it and has been using it for most of the day today. So, yeah, our 3 year old has his own netbook. Thanks Mom!

We ended up heading to Perkins for dinner and Gabriel was very insistant about getting his cookie *before* dinner and not as dessert. We got him pizza, but he chose to take over my Mom's quesadilla appetizer for dinner.

After dinner I was able to win him a stuffed green teddy bear from one of those claw machines. He was SO happy and looked at it and said "A teddy bear! I call you green."

When we got back home we watched Hell's Kitchen and Big Brother. I then downloaded every picture of Gabriel (and Rob, and our family, and me) from both my desktop and my laptop onto my Mom's memory stick. I arranged them into proper folders. An hour and a half later, my Mom had all those pics and didn't have to worry about losing them when the zombie finally goes belly up.

Today my Mom stayed here until a little after noon. She then headed out to see my Nana and will be heading back home later this afternoon.

It's not easy today. Rob's back at work, Mom is heading home, and it's Pam's birthday. She would have been 58 today.

The Noble Traditionalist

68% Traditionalism!

You Scored 68% Traditionalist, Congratulations!

Brush off your Webster's Complete Dictionary, Vol. XXVIII, and look up "Traditionalsim". See a picture of yourself? You should, you're as traditional as they come! As a Traditionalist, you probably have a keen appreciation for the customs of the old world, and a yearning to keep them kindled in your heart and in those around you. Whether it be celebrating obscure rituals or participating in festivals, you know about your heritage and are proud of where you come from, and you've like as not got some lederhosen in your back room.

You might see the progressive trends of modern society as eroding away at the traditions you love, and may resent the lack of appreciation that many have for their ancestry. After all, it is difficult to celebrate your own heritage when the modern credo, "Hail, diversity! Down with the traditions of old!" surrounds you at every corner. But, you put up a stoic front and try to honour your culture in the name of your forefathers.

You are likely a little more intellectual than most, and enjoy learning about the histories of many different cultures, including your own. It would be hard to appreciate yours if you didn't know about any others. You are somewhat idealistic, and probably relish the romanticism of earlier times more than others around you. You see the grandeur in the ghosts of antiquity, delight in drafty castles and the notion of aristocracy. You feel like your ideals are not part of the mainstream spectrum of philosophy, but that's ok: as a traditionalist, society needs you more than ever to check the heady flow of new age 'enlightenment'.

You scored as a traditionalist because you tested highest in the areas of, naturally, traditionalism, intelligence, and oddly enough, diversity. Hey, you can't be knowledgable and intolerant at the same time, they aren't really good bedfellows.
