2009-09-21 11:07 AM Vet Appointment, Errands, And The Sickies Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: So-So Read/Post Comments (1) Friday night we were going to do some gaming, but I was too tired and just couldn't concentrate. So, we watched our Netflix rented DVD of The Unborn It was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Saturday morning we took Sydney to the vet. He was still having really bad diarrhea and sometimes wasn't able to make it to the box. So, it was time to be seen by the vet. The fecal tests have come back clear of parasites, but she thought she saw an overgrowth of yeast in there and thinks he has an imbalance of bacteria in his intestines. So, he's now on antibiotics and Science Diet i/d prescription diet (for intestional issues). While at the vet's office he also ended up getting a water sac under his skin since he was a bit dehydrated. On the way home from the vet's office, he had another bout of diarrhea in his carrier. I kind of expected it since he can't control it and so we already had an old hand towel in there that was just thrown out. When we got home from the vet, we gave him some of the i/d food and his first dose of antibiotics... which he promptly threw up. *sigh* Since then, he's been eating well (both the dry i/d food, which he seems to like better than his usual California Naturals chicken and brown rice dry food - and the wet i/d food which he seems to like just as much as his Wellness pouches) and has held down all of his other antibiotic doses. His poop is starting to turn back to its normal color (dark brown as opposed to the light tan it's been recently) and while it's not solid, it's also not pure liquid either. So, hopefully, things are getting back to normal. Once he starts pooping normally again and has control over his bowels, he'll be allowed back in the bedroom. The last thing we need right now is our bed covered in cat diarrhea. After the trip to the vet, it was time for our weekly errands. We made a run to Fresh Market for some groceries, Babies R Us for some diaper wipes and snacks for Gabriel, and then to Pet Supplies Plus for some Greenies Pill Pouches (they're treats you put pills in and work very well for Sydney). We then stopped off at home to drop things off. We then ran out to Baskin Robbins to get Gabriel some ice cream and I found out that I can eat their "no sugar added" ice cream without any problems. It didn't taste very good, but it was better than nothing. We then headed back to our area and did our weekly grocery shopping. When we came back home, we were in for the night. We had picked up a rotisserie chicken for dinner at Fresh Market and were even able to find some no sugar added cherry pie. We had dinner and did some gaming. Sunday we had plans to finally re-up our cell phone contracts with AT&T and get new phones, but it wasn't meant to be. I woke up in pain (right side of abdomen) and decided to stay in bed for awhile. When I finally did get up and showered, I was feeling all over icky and was even getting the chills (which is very uncommon for me). We stayed in for most of the day and only ran out to grab dinner. We brought in a pizza from Buca (I seem to do all right with thin crust pizzas) and were going to game, but I was too sick. When Gabriel finally went to sleep, so did I. I felt sick and my body wanted to do nothing other than sleep. This morning I feel somewhat better. I'm doing up four loads of clothing laundry and chilling out with Gabriel. ----------
You're Knuckles! Yay! You're stubborn as a bull. Great. But you're also very loyal and trustworthy, so people could tell you anything and not have it get out. That is, if you care to listen.
