So-So

Friday night we watched our DVD of Donnie Darko. Wow, I had forgotten just how amazing that movie is. We have the sequel from Netflix, so I wanted to watch the original again before watching the sequel.

Saturday we got a lot done. In the morning I headed over to the salon to get my hair done. Color touch up and a bit of a trim. I had a nice talk with Kylie and it was fun. I love my salon time, it's pretty much the only "me time" I have these days.

When I was done at the salon, Rob, Gabriel, and I headed to this years Empty Bowls charity event. I LOVE the bowl I found, it's wooden (there will be a pic of it coming up on Envisage later today). Rob picked out his bowl and Gabriel picked out a kids one. We then headed on in and had soup. Gabriel ate a lot of bread and almost all of his bowl of cream of mushroom soup. I tried some egg drop soup and some clam chowder. The chowder was to die for!

When we had finished our soup lunch, we cleaned up our bowls (you get to keep them) and headed out. I did what I did last year and gave double the donation they asked for for the three bowls. They seemed very happy with that.

We then did our errands. We headed to the mall where Rob made a run in to the Clinique counter to get some more face moisturizer for the both of is. We then headed to the Fresh Market for some foodage and for some more of these amazing drinks that I've found. They're called Rev/d and they really help with blood sugar control. We then headed to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to get some more hangers and I needed two new egg whisks as well. We then took Gabriel into a nearby Spirit halloween store. He loved it in there and picked out a small plastic bat.

It's so cute, he goes around Halloween stores saying hi to all of the monsters and he's not scared of them at all. He even somewhat told off another kid his age. He was watching an animatronic witch, which freaked out a girl his age. When she jumped he rolled his eyes, sighed, and said "It's a witch" in the tone that let her know it wasn't scary. He's so funny.

We're wondering if we should try and take him to a haunted house this year or if we should wait until next year.

Oh, as a side note, he's also being a smart ass. He was up with Rob in the loft the other day playing on his netbook. There was a problem with the connection and he said "Shit, it broke.". Rob told him to NOT say that and that it was naughty. His response? "Sorry Daddy... fuck, it broke." *sigh*

Anyway, after the Halloween store we headed to Ulta for me to pick up some new perfume and then we headed home for a bit.

When we headed out again it was to Kinko's to print out the design for the turtle tattoo that I'll be getting on my birthday. I have an appointment with Gary on my birthday at 4pm for the turtle tattoo. Woot.

We then headed to Pick N Save for our main weekly grocery shopping. We came back home and decided to cook dinner (grilled out burgers and cheese fries) and game.

Sunday I wasn't feeling all that great (migraine), so I stayed in bed for awhile and took it slow when getting ready for the day.

We grabbed lunch at McDonalds and then headed over to the AT&T store to upgrade our phones. It's been 6 months since our contracts expired and we're due for an upgrade. Plus, Rob's phone is pretty much dead and mine is getting there. We had done lots of research on phones and decided on a Samsung Rugby. So, we get to the store and find out that they're completely sold out! Crap! We looked at their other phones and there were no others that I even remotely liked. Okay, well, the iPhone was kind of neat, but it has WAY too much stuff on it and I couldn't even find out how to use the PHONE part of the phone. I want a phone, not a computer.

We made a stop at Pick N Save for some color catchers and stain remover that I had forgotten to pick up the day before, and then we headed home. We decided to try and upgrade our phones online.

They were out of the burgundy one, so I ended up ordering the yellow one. It let me order the upgrade and change my plan online. It worked fine for me.

Not so for Rob. The computer system wouldn't let him change his plan, so he did his upgrade over the phone. He ordered the black one.

I have no idea if our orders are correct and if our plans will change as needed. We'll see when we get the phones. I really hope everything went smoothly because the last time I tried to do a phone upgrade a lot of things got messed up.

After dealing with the ordering of our Rugbys, we headed to pick up dinner at Buca di Beppo. We got a pizza for us and a kids one for Gabriel. We headed back home, ate pizza, and watched the Amazing Race.

Right now I'm playing with Gabriel, trying to get some things done online while he's on his netbook, and washing up the towels.
