Pre-School Interview

Saturday morning my Mom went over to visit my Nana and then headed back to her place. She'll be heading out here again for Thanksgiving.

We took Gabriel over to the private school we're trying to get him into for his entrance interview/exam. I was surprised that they needed to do this for someone who is 3 years old and as of now, I have no idea how he did. His appointment was for 10:15am and we got there early. So, we hung out with him in the library until he and the others were called.

We were told they would be doing several activities with the kids. Reading a story, going over animal sounds, seeing if they know their numbers and letters, having them do an art project, and having them draw. Now, Gabriel knows his numbers, letters, color, shapes, and can even read on his own somewhat. However, that doesn't mean he'd be willing to perform on command, so I really have no idea how things went with him. I do know, that he didn't do well on the art project and the drawing portions.

Instead of stringing up the Froot Loops on a string to make a necklace, he ate his Froot Loops. From the moment we were told about this art project, we knew he'd eat them. So, we weren't surprised when we were told that he did just that. I'm surprised they didn't use macaroni or something like that. I mean, Gabriel knows that Froot Loops are food and not a toy, so it makes sense that he would eat them and not play with them. Also, he didn't draw the person when they asked him to. Instead, he decided to decorate himself with the marker they gave him. I'm shocked that they gave a three year old a marker and I really hope I can get it out of his shirt in the wash.

We should know this week how things went with him and if he's approved, if they want to see him again in the spring, or if it's a no. If he gets turned down for eating the Froot Loops, then I'm not sure I'd want him there - they need to understand that he's 3 and that Froot Loops are food.

When we were done there, we did some of our weekend errands. We went to The Fresh Market for food, Ulta because I needed a new hair dryer (I got a Rusk one called Speed Freak), and then to the drug store to grab a presciption.

We then came home for a little while and Gabriel fell asleep, so we all took a nap. We all napped from 3pm to 5pm. It felt SO nice to be able to nap and we were surprised because Gabriel really doesn't nap anymore.

Later on when we woke up we got take out from Buca di Beppo (salad and pizza) and then came home to eat it and watch our Netflix rental of Drag Me To Hell. It was a very good movie.

Sunday we did the rest of the errands that we didn't get done on Saturday. We headed to Fuddrucker's for lunch and then went to Kohl's to get a new dustbuster. We drove around and took a look at the local public schools (in case Gabriel doesn't get in to the private one). We then made a Walgreens run and a Pick N Save run for our food shopping of the week.

We got some Chinese take out from Golden Gate for dinner and did some gaming while we watched The Amazing Race.

Listening to rock music hasn't made you discard any of your feminine & soft ways. In fact, its emphasized them! You combine ladylike delicacy with rock's edgy quirks to reveal an entire new genre of sexy rocker girl. THINK: Amy-Lee, of Evanescence
