2010-03-11 9:30 AM Dryer Problems (Again) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Annoyed Read/Post Comments (4) This has happened before. Our dryer doesn't dry clothes properly anymore. It takes many cycles to dry something and then there's a burning smell. If our apartment building snaked out the dryer vents (like you're supposed to do for fire safety) every year this wouldn't be a problem. But, they don't. It means our vent is clogged and there's probably something on top of the vent on the roof that's doubling as a birds nest. The last time this happened it took over a week for them to fix because our manager at that time didn't know who to call. Well, it's happening again. Which means I now have our towels hanging on the railings up in the loft to dry. They'll dry rough and scratchy, but at least they'll be clean. We called our apartment manager last night and haven't heard anything from him. We'll try to call him today because our washer and dryer is one of the most important things in this aparement considering how much laundry we do around here. I have no idea how long it will take for him to get someone out here to fix this. The vent needs to be snaked and the top of the vent on the roof needs to be cleared off. That's all. And yet, I'm sure it will turn into some large impossible production. *sigh* At least when we own a house we can make sure the vents are taken care of every year and buy our own washer and dryer. While it's nice to be in an apartment because we don't have to pay for repairs, we pay for it in slow service. I am not a happy Jen right now. ----------
