I. Am. So. Pissed. Off. Right. Now.

Yesterday, I went to load up some pictures from my camera so that I could post to Envisage... and nothing happened. After about two hours of trying things, I was able to find out the problem. The computer could not see the camera. Rob recently loaded up the 2010 version of Norton and it managed to corrupt something so that the camera can no longer be found when it's hooked up to the computer. Apparently, this is a known bug in the new Norton.

I spent all of the day dealing with this and when Rob got home from work, he joined in and helped. It was around 1am when we gave up.

We spoke to Nikon, Norton, and Sony, and none of them knew what to do. People know of the problem, it's just that not a single person knows how to fix it. If this doesn't get fixed, not only will I be forced out of Envisage, but I'll have a worthless camera and won't be able to load any pics up any more. I have a four year old son, I take a lot of pictures of him, this is a HUGE problem.

We've tried everything that everyone suggested, and none of it works. Our last option is to spend money on something called a card reader, but then I'd always have to use a memory card with my camera and could never download pics that are on the camera itself. Apparently, a card reader can take a memory card and put that on the computer somehow. What with being out of work and all, there's not a lot of spare cash around here, but this is a necessity, and so I shall try it.

If it works, great, I can stay with Envisage and keep putting pics of Gabriel off of the camera and onto the computer. I don't know what I'll do if it doesn't work. Obviously, I'll be out of the Envisage project. But then I'll also have a worthless camera and not be able to take any more pictures of my son because I won't be able to put them anywhere off of the camera, and that just kills me.

If any of you readers have any clue what to do, please e-mail me. I need all the help I can get right now. My e-mail address is firewolf at earthlink dot net. I'm spelling it out so I don't get spam.
