My sickies were getting better and I was able to sleep in on Saturday morning. Once I was up and ready on Saturday, we did our weekly errands. We headed out to Pick N Save for our grocery shop of the week, stopped at the drug store for me to pick up my headache script, GNC to pick up some supplements that I take, the ATM for some cash, grabbed a kids meal from Burger King for Gabriel (he loves their chicken fries), and then got Chinese food from Golden Gate to bring home with us for dinner. I'm glad we went there when we did, they're going to be closed for the next two weeks. Saturday night Rob and I gamed and I also set up a Neopets account for Gabriel. Neither Rob nor myself play Neopets anymore, in fact, I gave my main account and all three gallery accounts to my sister in law Donna a few years ago. But, Gabriel loves the games and wanted an account, so he's on there now. He picked a blue Bori (it looks like an armadillo - he has a thing for armadillos right now) as his pet. Sunday we decided to head down to the Racine/Kenosha area for some things. We were going to have lunch at Cracker Barrel, but they were packed and there was a half hour wait. So, we got Gabriel a stuffed armadillo (he's pretty much potty trained now with only a few accidents now and then and this is his reward) and headed out of there. We ended up having White Castle for lunch and then grabbing some Dunkin Donuts for dessert. We then stopped off at Mars Cheese Castle where we picked up some summer sausage, hot pepper havarti cheese, dill cheese curds, and some beer cheese cold pack cheese. Yum. From there we went down the road to Bobby Nelson's and picked up some of their hot jalapeno pepper bratwursts for dinner tonight and some of their fantastic eight year old cheddar cheese. Everything was going good until our drive back home. On our drive back home, Rob got pulled over. We really had no idea why. I think this is Rob's curse, he gets pulled over for doing something wrong when he doesn't even know he's doing something wrong. Apparently, in Wisconsin, it's a law and not just a courtesy to change lanes (if you can, and if you can't to slow down to 20 below the posted speed limit) if there's an emergency vehicle on the side of the road. There were two cops with their lights flashing on the side of the road that had pulled a car over and no one was out of those cars. Rob drove by in the right lane and one of those cops pulled him over. This resulted in a $265 ticket and 3 points off of his license. Ouch. All for an obscure law that neither of us knew was a law and we had always thought was a courtesy. The cops were playing leap frog with each other. When the one we saw on the side of the road was done giving his ticket, he pulled in behind the cop that was behind us. The first car that passed us in the right lane, he went after. When our cop was done with us, he pulled in behind that stop and went after the first person to pass them. Insane. At first we thought about just paying it, then we wondered if there was a way to plea the points down, but the huge bad factors are that this will raise our insurance rates and be on Rob's record for the next five years. So, now we're thinking about hiring a traffic attorney and fighting it if an attorney thinks it's something that's fightable. We'll see. Eventually we did get back home. Rob grumbled that his Father's Day presents were a bluetooth headset from Gabriel, a leather and brass dresser caddy from me, and a $265 ticket from the cop. Later on we headed out once more. We made a stop at the game store, Fresh Market, and Babies R Us and then we headed home for the night. We cooked out the bratwurst that we had gotten from Bobby Nelson's for dinner and had some potato salad that we had picked up from Fresh Market on the side. Dinner was good and then we just chilled out and played around on the computer for awhile since nothing was on TV. ----------
