Scary Storm

Last night was a bit on the scary side. We had some "dangerous thunderstorms" and more than a few tornadoes in the area. Luckily, while the storm was horrible, none of the tornadoes came to our city. This is a very good thing because not only do we not have a basement to hide in, we're on the second (top) floor of an apartment building and so we're in a very dangerous position should a tornado ever come through here.

The tornadoes seemed to be all a bit south of us. One town got hit very badly and some others were hit as well. These are places I've been to and aren't very far away. It was scary, especially when our warning sirens began to go off.

So, Rob and I stayed up late last night even though Gabriel went to sleep early. We wanted to stay awake until the tornado warnings and sightings were past our area - just in case. It was still storming out when we went to sleep around midnight, but the worst had finally passed us.

I love living out here, but the tornado thing will always freak me out. Of course, it's better than earthquakes.
