Snowpocalypse: Day Three
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

Last night the bad stuff came. Lots of snow and lots of wind and even an announcement of a civil emergency. Seems that if your car got stranded in a ditch or you were in an accident, you were screwed. Emergency crews would not be getting to you that night. We all stayed inside and watched the snow from our windows. At the times we could see the condos across the street through the blizzard, we noticed that the snow was halfway up their front doors. Yikes.

As of now, the storm has passed and the sun is even peeking out on occasion through the clouds. Still, it's recommended not to go out today.

There are snow drifts around 8 feet high and a problem clearing the roads. Many cars were abandoned in the middle of the roads and this is making it so the plows can't do their jobs. Travel is still not advised even though the blizzard is over.

Our apartment complex has not been plowed out yet, so we couldn't go out even if we wanted to. Rob is working from home again today and Gabriel would be at home today anyway. His preschool days are usually Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Hopefully, things will be plowed and cleared by tomorrow. Hopefully, my car will start tomorrow after not having been run for two days.

Oh, and we were lucky, we managed to keep our power all during the storm. Seems some of Rob's co-workers were not as lucky.
