Kindergarten Shopping

I guess it's not really "back to school" shopping since 1.) Gabriel is still in preschool and 2.) the school where he's going to Kindergarten is a brand new school that he's never been to before. So, I'll just call it Kindergarten shopping.

A few weeks ago, we found his nap mat (they have to have a specific one) at Walmart. Then, last weekend, we did the rest of his school shopping. Most school supplies were done at Target, though we couldn't find the specific crayons he needed (3 packs of 16 non-washable Crayola) or the play-doh (2 packs of the basic colors) there. I found those on Amazon. The other supplies (napkins, plastic spoons, Clorox wipes, ziploc bags, etc.) we got at the grocery store. In the end, we were able to get everything he needs. Now I just have to wait for the Amazon order to get here.

Oh, and as a treat for being so good in Target we let him pick out a toy - he wanted Rainbow Dash, one of the new My Little Pony characters. But of course, he's still not a brony (or so he claims).

When it came to a backpack, he needed a large size one and so I asked him what he wanted on it. He wanted one with dinosaurs on it (preferable a T-rex). I was able to find that online and it's already here. A picture of it is up on my Facebook under the Miscellaneous album.

So, the Kindergarten shopping is done. Scary. He has to be at school on August 16 for finishing up the registration and getting his photo taken. There's also a meeting for the whole family (both meetings are mandatory) on the night of August 30. Then, he'll be starting Kindergarten on September 1.

When did my tiny baby get so grown up?
