Rob, Gabriel, and I spent last weekend out at my Mom's place. Even though my ankle is still severely swollen and messed up, we still had fun. Though we didn't do much of anything that required a lot of walking.

On Friday we picked Gabriel up from school just before his end of the day recess. We made a stop at home to drop off his lunch box and backpack and then headed out to Galena. On the way there, we made a stop at a gas station for munchies and the potty.

When we got there it was already after 6pm, so we just dropped our stuff off, grabbed my Mom, and headed out to dinner. Dinner was had at Los Aztecas. It's a really yummy Mexican restaurant. I LOVE their garlic mushroom shrimp and their horchata. After dinner we headed back to my Mom's place to chill out and watch TV.

Saturday we headed into Dubuque. Rob and I needed to make a run into Best Buy for a flash drive, printer ink, and a few other things as well. Borders was having an 80% off sale because they would be closing in ten days, so my Mom and Rob ran in there. Apparently almost everything had been picked over, but my Mom did manage to find the last puzzle book they had in stock. Rob also checked out a comic book store and then we grabbed dinner at House of China. They're one of my all time favorite Chinese restaurants. After dinner we headed back to my Mom's as usual.

Sunday we spent most of the day around my Mom's house. I really wanted to walk around the town of Galena, but my ankle was too bad. So, we just made a quick run to the popcorn store and then had dinner at Gabriel's favorite place - Durty Gurts. After dinner I saw Gary outside of his shop and made an appointment with him for Thursday October 27. I'll be getting the Shoggoth tattoo then.

All in all, we had a great time at my Mom's place, though my ankle hindered me in doing a lot of things outside of the house.

We headed back home on Monday and made fairly good time, especially since we had two bathroom stops. When we got back home I took my car out for a drive and then Rob went out grocery shopping. My ankle is still horribly swollen and hurts to walk on (though I'm walking on it better than I was last week) and also throbs when I'm just sitting. So, since I'm the one who now has to take Gabriel to and from school, we all thought it best if I didn't walk around the grocery store.

Gabriel's currently at school and I'll be picking him up later in the afternoon.
