Yesterday I did my volunteering at Gabriel's school. I worked on the centers again, only this time we played a math game. The kids were paired off and each were given a crayon, a dice, and a star to color in. They would take turns rolling the dice and then color in a number of squares on the star equal to what they rolled. The one with the most squares colored in when it was complete won the game. One of the kids wanted to pair up with me and since we had an odd number, I was fine with that.

After the math game I helped them out in the computer lab - they were working on making patterns. All in all it was taxing, but fun. I have to say that I do love volunteering there every Thursday.

Next week they have no school on Thursday (or Friday and it's a half day on Wednesday). Wednesday is their fall costume party, so I'm helping out with that. I'm going in costume as well. I have a princess costume for that and Gabriel has a Jerry (from Tom and Jerry) costume for the party. (For Halloween I'm going to be Mother Nature and Gabriel is going to be Spider Man.) Wednesday is also my birthday, so it'll be awesome being able to be in costume that morning and help out at the party.

Yesterday Rob came home from work a bit early and we all went to the flu shot clinic at the doctor's office. Since I'm asthmatic I was able to get my shot a few weeks back, but because Rob and Gabriel are healthy, they had to wait for the clinic. There was a fairly long line, but eventually they both got their shots. Gabriel didn't cry, he was great for it. For some reason, shots have never bothered him that much. Maybe it's because he's seen Rob and I get them or maybe it's because he's seen me get tattoos, but shots just don't bother him. That's a good thing in my opinion.
