So, today I got the e-mail from school that no parent ever wants to get. Some kids in Gabriel's classroom had lice. What I didn't know at the time is that four out of the eight Kindergarten classes in the school now have a lice problem. I got the warning about the lice in the class, but when they checked all the kids I didn't get a warning that Gabriel had them. *whew*

When I picked Gabriel up from school today one of his teachers mentioned that I might want to get checked out by the school nurse as well because I was working there yesterday, so I did. I'm very happy to say that both Gabriel and I are head-bug free.

I don't know what I'd do if we had them. Seems you can't use the treatments if you have any allergies or sensitivities to either pesticides or ragweed (I have both) or if you're asthmatic (I am). We don't know about Gabriel's sensitivities yet, so probably only Rob could use the treatments.

If there was school tomorrow, I think I'd keep him out. As it is, I'm creeped out about him being there on Monday.

The nurse recommended we keep checking his hair for the next week or so.

Of course, after I got the e-mail (and even now that we've both been inspected and I know that we're clean) I'm still super creeped out and am getting phantom head itchies.
