2011-11-03 3:37 PM Volunteer Day Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Happy Read/Post Comments (0) Today was my day to volunteer in Gabriel's classroom. Before heading over to the school, I made a stop off at the library to return The Presence by John Saul and to pick up Second Child, also by John Saul. During volunteering time today I made a whole lot of copies (which for some odd reason is starting to be fun) and worked on the math centers with the kids. Today's game was to take a dice, roll it, write down the number you got, and then count up from there. So, if someone rolled a 6, their sheet should say 6, 7, 8, 9. Some kids picked it up right away, some needed extra help, mine latched on to me and cuddled up on my lap. When Gabriel moved over to his teacher's station, he crawled onto her lap and fell asleep. So, instead of helping out with the computer lab, I headed out early since he was fast asleep. Of course, the moment we got home we woke up and is now playing on his computer. I also had a proud Mommy moment at his conference yesterday. Most kids in Kindergarten read at an A or B level. The goal is to get them reading at level C by the time the school year ends. Gabriel is currently reading at level I. Seems he has my passion for books. I love that! Just so you all know, a private entry was put up today. If you need the login or password, let me know and I'll e-mail it to you. Please keep in mind the private section is only for people that I know and trust.
