Grandma's Journal My Journal I became a Grandma at the age of 49 years old. Well I was actually only 17 days from being 50. My baby girl gave me gave me my first grandchild. He was a beautiful bouncy boy. Then 2 years later she surprised me on my birthday at 5am by waking me up and telling me "Happy Birthday Mom!" Time to get up we are going to the hospital and having a baby today! I told her NO that's tomorrow. It took a little bit for her to get it through my groggy head that she was going to be giving me a birthday present! and she totally did. She gave me a dark hair beautiful little grand daughter. Now I can enjoy spoiling 2. I have decided that the best thing in the world is being a Grandma! There is nothing that come close to that! I have been married for 30 years to a man that lives for his family. He only wants the best for all of us and spoils us all! He is a good man that works hard for his dollar. We have a pretty good marriage to say the least. Well it must be if we can put up with each others faults this long! My mom who has Alzehimers lives with us and has been for almost 3 years now. She is in the finally stages of the disease and still hangs in there. She loves to grab the broom and sweep. She does this everyday, and several times a day. I keeps her busy. She will even sweep the counch or the kitchen table if you let her. My oldest daughter is going to be 34 years old this year and hasn't lived at home in 16 years. I spend as must time as I can with her. But it is never enough. She plans on coming home to live and take care of us in 7 years. I cant wait! It's my dream to have her home. She is a dear friend to me and we have a great relationship. she always tells me that I am her best friend. |

Read/Post Comments (1) I love Lighthouses, and I collect them. I added a beautiful homemade lighthouse quilt to my collection in November 2008. A friend of my oldest daughter made it for me, and she did a beautiful job. I will treasure it always. |
2009-04-04 11:22 AM Saturday and the sun is shinning Friday came and gone, and I spaced it out getting on this blog page.
I started my Friday off with teaching pre-school, then it was lunch, and off to the bank. I stopped at Van's and ordered Amy's Christmas gift, and it should be ready in two weeks. I am really excited to see it! I ordered matching one's but mine is different then her's. Mine will have a diamond in the center where her's has a sapphire. We went to a Tri-City American's Hockey game, and it was one of the best games I have seen in a long time. Full of action and high pace. We won by the skin of our chinny chin chins! We are out 2 guys due to injuries that the other team inflected on us! They were very determined to take out our high scoring guys. And they did just that! One of the guys couldn't stand up and he was trying to scoot across the ice on his hands and knee. He looked to be in a lot of pain! It is not nice to get injuries this late in the game as we need all of our players to win the "Playoffs". We will show them tonight who is boss, and hopefully have better ref's. Today I have Carson and DesiRay, just so mommmy and daddy can get away by themselves for lunch and a movie. Carson through the biggest tantrum I have ever seen. He was outside sneeking out the front gate, and when mom brought him back he went out the side gate and then out the driveway gate faster then she could walk 10 feet to reach him. Mommy and Daddy finally got in the car, and he is standing there in the driveway crying and jumping up and down. When I finally got him calmed down, he was crying that he wanted to go hockey. He thought they were going to a hockey game without him. I brought him in the house, and told him that Mommy and Daddy wouldn't go to a hockey game without him, Desi or grandma! Then I told him that mommy and daddy were just going to go to a movie, and would be back to get him after the movie and then we would all go to the hockey game together tonight! So now things are quite, Desi is sleeping and Carson is sitting here on my couch (don't tell anyone but) he is eating snack crackers on my couch (which is a big NO NO)! and watching his movie "Cars". Well it's almost lunch time, and I am going to go make some lunch. Not sure yet what we are going to make, as Carson wants tomatoes! Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
