1. It was raining. Hard. Portions of this region got 11 inches of rain in about 12 hours. Well, that didn't actually occur on Saturday, but it is representative of the type of rain we've been getting lately. 2. I was tired. This may have had something to do with the rain. 3. My sister slept late. I didn't know this before I called up to say I wasn't coming, so it wasn't a factor in the decision process, but a list with only two items seems to present a rather weak argument. Right after I expose my economic theory of hot air balloons, I saw *two* balloons aloft over the Chester County countryside today. And from today's Philadelphia Inquirer: "After three years of lackluster growth, the U.S. economy is finally poised to begin a sustained rebound that will start to cut the unemployment rate, a national business group predicted yesterday." So is that Nobel material, or what? Books: The Witching Hour is proving to be creepy and suitably atmospheric, with its eerie New Orleans setting. Music: The same 6 CDs in my car. I thought that having a CD player in the glove compartment rather than the trunk (yet another design flaw of the evil German car) would cause me to change them more often. This has not been the case. Movies/TV: 7th Heaven and Everwood, last night, with Rebecca, at her request. Rather treacly and preachy for my tastes, but when a 12 year old asks you to do something with her, you take advantage of it. As Time Goes By - probably my favorite TV show of all time, I'll watch it any time I see it pop up on one of the PBS stations. Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer in wonderfully warm and funny roles, rekindling a romance that had been interrupted for 40 years. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
