Work: meeting, meeting, meeting, meeting, 10 minute lunch, meeting, meeting, meeting. No big fights or catty comments, no interesting rumors, so a bland day all around.

Movies: Roger Dodger. Ever since seeing him in The Spanish Prisoner I've enjoyed watching Campbell Scott. He is the centerpiece of this film, playing a despicable would-be womanizer who is dumped by his boss/lover. His 16 year-old nephew steals two women away from him in a sequence that is marvelous in its audacity. (Apparently 16 year-old boys are fair game for older women in movies; the same scenes shot with a 16 year-old girl would have caused boycotts and all manner of uproar.) The ending is sadly too upbeat, although I suppose the tiny shreds of decency glimsped in previous scenes make it possible, if not entirely plausible.
