The 3rd shoe

How hard is it to load those pre-folded paper towels into the dispenser the right way? You reach for the towel, your hands dripping, and you expect to find the edge of the fold so that you can grasp it easily and yank one out (or two in my case), only to find that some sadistic cleaning person has decided to load the towels in with the folds to the inside of the dispenser, thus causing my fingers to scrabble over the rough paper-like surface, trying to find something to grab onto, only to have to pinch the towels forcefully and pull out a completely unnecessary handful. Not once today, but twice - kitchen and bathroom. Isn't there some maintenance best practice that dictates the appropriate loading procedure? Or was Leona Helmsley the only one who cared about such things?

The zipper on my new coat broke today. I took back a bunch of overdue books to the library and find that they have no record of me returning that book by Steve Martin. I cannot find it at home either, which means I'll need to pay them for the privilege of losing one of their books. When is the next shoe going to drop?

New toys:
1. A wireless headset for my phone at work. It made my ear hurt today after using it for about 10 phone calls, but that will go away, right? It'll stretch over time, don't you think? I'll get used to it, won't I?
2. The new mini iPod for Rebecca - she'll give me the original one back (whereupon I will sanitize it and remove all the trash she loaded onto it such as F*&%$ This Sh^%$@ I'm Not Gonna Be Yo Ho No Mo) and I'll get her one of the new baby blue ones. Innocence is so fleeting.

Dreams: None. Back to blankness. I don't know which is worse - the oddities of the dreams last week, or the recollection of none this week.
