Rival theme parks

Rebecca will go to the doctor this afternoon to have him look at her foot and see if he thinks there's still a piece of glass embedded in the cut. A friend of Caitlin's had a baby over the holiday and she wants me to make a quilt for her (but less pink and frilly than the one I just made). I used to make dresses for the girls when they were little, although Caitlin started refusing to wear dresses any more when she was 4 and never looked back.

Dreams: When I wake up before my alarm goes off, usually an hour or so ahead of time, and then go back to sleep again, my brain fills with the most convoluted dreams imaginable. I was in Florida on vacation with my husband. We were staying at a place that was located right next door to the entrance for one of the theme parks, although I'm unclear as to whether it was a Disney park or one by Warner Bros. As we waited in line to get in I brushed up against another man who was staying at the hotel - he gave me a significant look, although I have no idea why. I was returning to our room to find all the things we'd need for a day in the park - water bottles (there was something about only taking in the empty containers so we wouldn't have to carry the weight of the water), hats, backpack, etc. By the time I came back the line had disappeared and so had my husband. I breezed right into the park and was accompanied by a park worker, who looked like Ron Howard's younger brother. I was on some sort of behind-the-scenes trail that would lead me to the attractions. I was carrying a local paper in which there was a story about Disney World on the front of the entertainment section. I told the park worker that I was in Orlando every other month and wondered if the two big companies counted the number of front page articles that were devoted to them every year. We finally got to what looked like a hotel lobby in which there were sculptures being built of straw, one in the shape of a large dragon. The worker told me that several smaller animal statues that looked like dead topiaries would be removed. I asked about the statues on the lower level, which I had apparently seen under construction on a previous trip. He said they were going well and that his employees had spent hours last night unloading a stock of long wooden sticks that were used by a group of Chinese acrobats in their show.

There's little worse than reading someone else's distrubingly detailed, tedious dreams, is there?
