I'm not going to be too articulate here. This is news I expected for a while, but it still stuns me.
Barbara Franchi died Saturday night, February 28 with her family at her side. She'd fought cancer twice and if there was anyone I thought would survive a long time after such a battle it was Barbara. It just does not seem possible that she's gone. I hadn't realized how much I considered her a force of nature. Determined, solid on this earth, smart about so many things, articulate. It just doesn't seem believable. Maybe later I will be able to say more but right now I'm just stunned. Barbara leaves behind her husband Rudy, her daughters Jill, Susan and Regina, her son-in-law Tony and her grandson Bennett. Rudy and the family will be sitting Shiva on March 8. I can provide details if you are in the LA area and would like to pay your respects. Contributions in Barbara's name can be made to Beit T'Shuvah, 8831 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90034 Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
