Bet you thought I was gonna write this one in italiano...no, no, I haven't the patience to express myself in that lovely language this evening.
So whose idea was it to decide on the next pope on my first day of producing headline news???? What a brilliant idea! Combining the week's biggest story with my bumbling idiocy and incoordination as a producer. I made it through alive after 11 hours, so it must have not been a complete bust... I don't think I perceived the sunlight today until it was setting and I was sitting in traffic on the Edens at 7:30 p.m...apparently Chi-town rush hour is in full throttle at this hour only from Skokie to Addison--the exact distance from Evanston Cable to my abode in the city. Murphy's Law. But the sad, sick fact is that I still enjoyed it all...especially that moment of pure dread when your stomach drops out at the first sign of the shit hitting the producer fan and when you have lost all sense of time and you're running fifty seconds over and you can't decide what to cut... And the fact that it was a lovely, summery day here in this city that is so horridly frigid in the winter, is an automatic spirit booster. Non posso aspettare la staggione bellissima che si chiama l'estate...la staggione della mia nascita. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
