Buffalo Gal Judi Griggs I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. 2004-09-02 8:37 AM Frances or Carol Our Labor Day weekend plans are literally in the air as we wait to discover if Carol will be able to fly in from England or if we will evacuate in anticipation of Hurricane Frances.
The cats are not "storm is coming" agitated, leading me to believe there is a chance that we have a shot at the much preferred Carol plan (which would not include travel with said cats and eventually dealing with insurance adjusters... both events comparable to severe kidney stones while being strapped in a chair in Madison Square Garden for the entire week of the Republican National Convention). Not that I would wish Frances on anyone, but Florida does have a preponderance of early bird special buffets, a lot of folks who wear dark socks and sandals, and J-Lo. A wind and rain enema might suit them better. Frances is category four with a bad attitude. Carol, a London columnist, can be twice as sassy, but she only deflates those who deserve it. I'd much rather be in Carol's path. Those of us who believe in things like justice, equality and stray dogs are actually quite safe under her wing. As to the others, they had it coming.
