Buffalo Gal

I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. In like a lion

Waiting to see if Mother Nature hits us straight on or skirts up the coast and just drops a dusting.
At this point, I'm pulling for the blizzard. I'd really like a snow day. As kids that meant sledding, skating and hot chocolate. Today I'd take the latter combined with a day without responsibility or social commerce.
Chris Rhea sings about "God's Great Banana Skin," but who would have believed the skid could last this long. A big, cleansing gust may be just what I need.
Yesterday, after the concert, I saw a family walking back to their car. They dispatched the youngest to check to see whether an object poking through the snow was a stick or a fresh bloom pushing through.
I could have told them it was a stick.
But it was nice to see their are still folks who really believe spring is just around the corner.
