I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. A bad hair life

No matter how much I spend, no matter how talented the stylist, I am not a good hair person.
No quantity of over-priced potions or electronic appliances can change the fact and I lack the chromosone to change it.
I recognize and even appreciate "bouncin' and behavin'" coiffs on others, but it is literally not my style. The universal aceptance of a morning ritual wrestling with a blowdryer astounds me.
If I don't have an external meeting in the first hour of the business day, I see an easy 10 minutes saved for more productive efforts. On the question of hot rollers, my only answer is "why?"
I had a stylist for awhile on St. Simons who forced me into bobbed submission. She made my hair idiot-proof and could layer guilt like a Catholic school nun if I suggested rescheduling an appointment. The effort on her part was substantial, on mine non-existent.
It's hard to find folks interested in that kind of commitment to my head.
My current stylist came highly recommnded. I've seen wonders step out of her chair. The first try, a little too "mod" and high maintenance. The second excessively short in the "reshaping" process.
It's my job to now grow some hair so she can figure out what to do next.
THAT part I can do.
