Buffalo Gal Judi Griggs I'm a communications professional, writer, cynic, mother, wife and royal pain. The order depends on the day. I returned to my hometown in November 2004 after a couple of decades of heat and hurricanes. I can polish pristine copy, but not here. This is my morning exercise -- 20-minute takes without a net or spellcheck. It's easier than sit ups for me. No guarantee what it will be for you. 2005-11-18 3:54 PM A wellspring of snarkiness I wish that was my line. Dammit it should be.
But professional courtesy and my sainted Grandma Mohn demand that I give credit to a client colleague who simply let it roll off her tongue in casual conversation. At that moment I knew, despite her even and professional demeanor, "she's one of us." We don't have rings, dues, meetings or secret handshakes, but we do have the gift/curse of viewing the world from a slightly different angle and focus than the masses -- and the desire to describe the view. And we believe appropriate snarkiness is not a bad thing. It is responsible, in part, for most decent blogs and the better shows on HBO. But tune into Dennis Miller's CNBC incarnation and be warned of the dire consequence of snarkiness run amuck. I've got a dozen things to clear off my desk before the weekend and can't afford another second to expound. But... wellspring of snarkiness... I like that one.
