2006-01-11 8:49 PM What a day, what a week!! Read/Post Comments (2) |
Yesterday, I came home from work/picking up LB and thought to myself, "Wow, what a long week, I sure am tired." Then I realized that it was only Tuesday!!! UGH!
Today, I made the ultimate mistake, I scheduled labs in all of my classes. The chemistry lab, supplied by another teacher, as usual, went pretty well, although many did not have the reaction go to completion, we're not sure why. Then I ran the stupidest and lamest and busy workest lab I think I've ever done. It was on entropy and I don't think that the lab taugt the students anything, except that you NEVER want to figure out all the possible combinations of dice to get a certain number if you have more than 2 dice!! And just to make it worse, I forgot all the dice I needed for the lab at home today, so during my prep period-the only time I have to get much work done at school, I had to drive home to get said dice and then back, which ate up most of that prep time. Then there was the AP lab, which would have worked very well...with a class of about 6 students. But we got to go for a nice walk outside for it, at least. Plus, I was supposed to make a phone call before noon, and even got a reminder call before noon, but neglected to check my messages before my lunch meeting, so only got the messages at 12:45. Made the call then, but don't know if it'll accomplish the goal or not. Oh, yeah, had a lunch meeting too, for CSF, not a bad club, but I didn't need the lunch meeting. The day, however did end somewhat nicely. First, Phil called to offer to pick LB up from day care, which I gratefully accepted-he'd noticed by my lack of response, existence on ICQ that I was having a day (as I've termed it). Second, I got a phone call from a parent of one of my top students. He left a message and I called him back. Before I called, I couldn't help but think, what have I done wrong, etc... The kids dad got on the phone and told me that he had just called to thank me for selecting his child to be one of my five star students of the semester. We chatted a bit about the student-who truly is a great kid and student, and then he thanked me again and went on his way. Now I've just got 2 more days to get to for my 3 day weekend. (which is also too busy, but there you go) Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
