Day 3, here in Canada.

LB was up mightly early, but we survived. After getting ready, we headed up to Banff. Our first stop was the Banff Goldola. It goes from the valley up to the station atop a ridge, and from there you can take the wooden boardwalk path to the Sulfur Summit, where there's a small shack (probably a fire lookout) and a cosmic ray detector. The elevation was over 7000 ft. at the top. It was a decent stair climb from the gondola station to the peak, and LB did it easily, then at the top he bounced and jumped. It was COLD at the peak. When we got close to the peak, the wind was blowing, making it even colder. We had his sweatshirt with us, but he refused to put it on. Then, near the top, he was with daddy and they said they needed the sweatshirt, so I asked him if he wanted the sweatshirt. He responded that he didn't want it, but he needed it. Learning the difference...slowly.

After the walk back to the gondola station, we stopped for some hot chocolate. LB didn't want hot chocolate, he wanted warm chocolate, so once it cooled off he had some.

We headed back down the gondola-another exciting ride. Then it was time to trade in the rental car. We headed back into Banff proper to get gas-we should have done it on the way in, but forgot. Actually, we headed up to the hotel where the car rental place was, then headed into town after realizing we needed gas. After we got gas-boy can that thing burn it-we headed BACK up the the Banff Springs Hotel. It was built to look like a Scottish castle, and is mighty impressive. We got the rental car taken care of and then opted for lunch. We ate it at a picnic table outside of the hotel, what a pretty setting for lunch-the amazing mountains in the background and the hotel in the foreground.

By then it was getting late for nap time so we headed back to the condo. LB opted out of his nap and eventually we went for a walk along Policeman's Creek, the creek that runs through town. It was nice, pleasant, relaxing, all that good stuff. Then back to the condo for dinner.

With no nap, it was easy to get LB to sleep. He made one very feeble attempt to get up, but then stayed put.

And that was that.
