2006-07-30 9:30 PM Day 2-in town Read/Post Comments (0) |
Mostly a laid back day today. LB slept until the train that woke me up also woke him up. The price we paid for sleeping with the windows open. I think tonight will be closed window. It's 72F upstairs and even cooler downstairs, but more on that later.
I'd done a basic grocery run last night, so after LB got up, we were able to have breakfast. We let Phil sleep in, since we'd have a bit of a rough night last night. We hung out around the condo, watched the trains go by, played with his new puzzles, watched some Thomas. Then we went for a walk to find the train tracks-they're really close to the condo. After Phil got up, we drove into town-a very short drive- and stopped in at the visitors center. Then we wandered around town. It was pretty nice to see a downtown area filled with shops most of which were not chains. I saw a Subway and that was about it. LB spotted a park and so we were off. It was amusing to watch the boys playing football in the shadow of such amazing scenery. I guess if you live here it's different. But LB had fun playing on the equipment in the shadows of the peaks as well. We walked back to the car and headed back to the condo. Ate lunch and then the bedtime battle began. He went down at a normal time for at home, which was later here. But he slept for a good chunk of time. The weather today was wonderful outside but the condo remained warm. Even with the windows open all day. This afternoon that was fixed. When LB got up from his nap, we were just about ready to go for a walk and it started raining. We threw on sweatshirts and off we went anyway, but just for a short one. It was starting to rain, but wasn't pouring and again, what lovely weather. After the walk, we came back up and I made the pasta for dinner-did the sauce earlier this afternoon. We ate. After we finished, we made a real supermarket run. As a side note, there was snow up at the mountain peaks from the storm that passed through. Came home, got LB to bed-much easier than last night and here we are, hanging out in the condo, relazing and spending time together. Now for cool weather and condo temps. So, for now, I'm off.
