So this is my first book review! For my birthday this past summer when I turned a stunningly old 26, my brother gave me the most wonderful book in the world. "Emma who Saved my Life" was written by (Jason, I forgot his name???) one of Jason's, my brother's, grad school professors who is also a North Carolina native. I recommend this book to everyone, especially actors. It's an amazing experience. The author tells of his life living in New York City in the 70s and trying to make it as an actor. It's almost like his day to day journal where he shares his day to day experience and thoughts with the people he meets to the descriptive theater experiences he goes through...many of which I can relate to. he sets the time period really well too. What a scary place New York was then, well...parts of it. If you want a really good, descriptive book...a biography, this is an awesome read. Not so great for the train...it's kinda heavy. I have muscles now!
