So, quick update. Last thursday, I was called back for a show at the Looking Glass Theatre here in the city. Apparently, all four directors there liked my previous audition and I was called back for all four of their plays...not just the one. So, I was there until 11:00 reading. I met this other actress who I kept getting paired with that restored my faith in the "actressing industry". In fact, most of the actresses there were very down to earth and were ready to have a good time. I felt for the first time in a long time that the people who I was "competing" with for these roles, I really enjoyed watching their auditions and I wanted them to get the part. There were only a few that were self-absorbed...freakishly into themselves and funny enough, were dismissed early! :) In any event, I was starving after the auditions because as most of you know I never eat before auditions or shows. I had another audition friday for yet another stage-play which went really well. They laughed and yes, it was a comedy! It seems all the dramatic monologues I've done lately have made people laugh, but this scene was supposed to be funny! "Anyway", speaking of...I miss Maria. My character in "Frappuccino". She always said 'anyway'. I'm going through severe Maria withdrawal. Back to the audition... I got a call over the weekend from the director of the friday audition and he wants to see me for a callback tomorrow. Time to take a trek to the drama bookstore to pick up the play. On a completely off note, I'm super excited because one of my best friends, Allie is coming into town this weekend so those of you that are coming to the party will get to be this ulitmately cool chick. Any one else have an exciting weekend? Oh, I did get a little too drunk saturday night at Derek (my honey's) bar and got on the subway to go home which was apparently going Manhattan bound. I didn't realize I was going the wrong way until I got to Union Square and was thinking I also passed Canal Street. Oops. I'm still in Manhattan. Oh, well.
