Last night was the final evening of the Independent NYC Film Festival which I went to see "Special Breakfast Eggroll - 99c.". It's a feature, written by Ben Ross and produced by my buddy Renzo, who casted me in his upcoming documentary. The film was...interesting. There were a lot of "Saved by the Bell" moments, but then there were a lot of really beautiful moments. The story in a nutshell is about these 6 friends who just graduated high school and their first spring break (6 months after high school graduation) was spent on 3 separate roadtrips only to find that the distant groups really missed the others and when they re-connected at the end, magically fell in love with each other. Some of the film was very trite and hard to follow because this. In any event, I met the director hoping to make a business connection there.
