So, I was really looking forward to this movie because like "Mona Lisa Smile" they used a lot of New York actors in it. The movie is a farce. If you like she-she romantic comedies you're going to think this movie is strange. I loved it! However, I didn't see the original. That's next!
I loved Glenn Close's character (naturally, she's brilliant) and Bette Midler's dialogue was hilarious. Nicole Kidman was average. Pairing up her and Matthew Broderick was an interesting combination. I really enjoyed the story. It was a fun idea and the end kinda threw me. I just went..."huh". A week ago Ebert and Roper reviewed it. I tend to side more with Richard Roper even though sometimes he lets his testosterone drive his reviews. He made an excellent point that I completely agree with. If the women of Stepford have this chip in their brain why were there robot clones...was this to increase the civilization of Stepford in this new society? Hmm. Kinda makes you think.
