Last night after calling my mom to get me to the theater (which I forgot the directions to), I saw "A Stoop On Orchard Street" which funny enough...was not on Orchard Street. huh.

Anyway, One of my clients was in the show so I went to support him. It was interesting because living in a Russian Jewish neighborhood, I got to see what this life was like for these people when they first came to America. Overall, it was a really good story with some holes. Some of the acting made me want to cringe...others the music spoke for itself through the story of the characters.

Some really nice voices...the singing was definately the strongest point of this show. There were a lot of caricatures which was unfortunate for such an interesting story. Much of the physicality was cliche and not interesting. However the roles of the leading woman and the peddler were very strong and make up for the remaining amateur production.

But, again ...a good concept. Interesting story..tribute.
