First off, Happy New Year. This officially is my last entry of the year. I plan on ringing in the new one with my gal pals Allie and Kate. Might even have pictures to share upon my return.

FROM THE THEATRICAL WORLD:

Jerry Orbach, most people know from "Law and Order" died today. He was 69 and apparently had prostate cancer. Even more reason to watch all of those re-run episodes on TNT 24 hours a day.

"The Merchant of Venice" starring Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Jo Fiennes, and Lynn Collins among many others opens today in New York and LA. It's playing at Lincoln Center up on 66th and 19th street cinemas for anyone in the city.
