When I had to wake my bunny up because he was crashed from the new years festivities.

So, New Years was great! My girls got in thursday and I had a meatloaf waiting for them. Then we got all spanky and made our way to the theater to see "Little Women". Before we got there, we stopped off at Rockefellar Center so I could...

show them the Big tree
Venture a sniff at La Maison du Chocolat
Visit the NBC store where Screech became the main attraction

"Little Women" was really great. I always have to remember when seeing a show in previews that it's the very begining of the character development. The individual characters were interesting and the story was told and laid out very well. HOWEVER, the interaction between the characters was completely glossed over by the music and the LACK OF build for those really significant moments (ie.. Laury proposes to Jo, Amy burns Jo's script, Amy and Laury tell Jo their engaged) made for a trite experience. Sutton Foster, you can tell, has a lot of fun playing Jo and makes a great one at that. Maureen McGovern was a great Marmee and has an amazing voice. The voices in the show overall incredibly complement each other with the exception of the chick playing Amy whose choice to play a nasal little girl...made it hard to listen to her and to empathize with her. The music is really charming and ofcourse Sutton's passionate show stopper "Astonishing" had the audience on the edge of their seats. Once they get their characters in check and tighten up the dialogue, this should be a pretty fantastic story.

After the show, we made our way up to Uncle Nicks Tapas Bar and got some flaming cheese!!! I feel ultimately fulfilled.

New Years Eve day:
After going around the city, the girls wanted to see the ball at Times Sqaure. I am officially announcing that after 2 times of going to Times Square at any part on New Years Eve, I WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!! I don't care if I'm even offered to stand next to the mayor on-stage and watch the balldrop...you people are mad, I say! After inching our way along 8th avenue to swing around back to broadway, we noticed we could see the ball miraculously through the buildings facing Broadway. We got pictures, Allie and Kate got pretzels, I got a crepe and walked to the subway carving into it with my fork and knife. Onto the Village where had got some pizza at John's Pizzeria. Still having 2 hours before getting to the club, we found a starbucks and hung out. It was there that I had a conversation with a homeless women that seemed to know how to tell me things I needed to her. She was really inspirational. I realized after that, any part of this conversation that I'd try to explain to anyone else would have no idea what I was talking about...but it was profound to me and that what counts. We arrived at the Fat Black Pussycat in the village and took to our table in the Morrocan Lounge. After calling most everybody while things weren't too loud, we got started on rounds. The details of this evening are still a little fuzzy so it think I'll opt to skip over this part. I do remember getting home and making pizza roles at 3am. That was fun! Of course bunny had to have his new years treat along with his new years kiss. :)

On the acting front, I'm doing a reading at the end of the month which on this past friday I realized I auditioned for this guy a year and a half ago. I guess when they say they really take their time making their casting decisions and they'll call if they like you really stands to reason here.
