Hello all! Just because...I'm adding a new feature to this blog. Every Monday...lovingly called "Munchie Monday"...I'll share one of my favorite recipes. Note: Most of them involve alcohol. Try them out and would love to hear your thoughts!

DRUNK TURKEY BACON CHILI

You will need:
1 can of Black Beans (drained)
1 can of Kidney Beans (drained)
1 pkg of Lean Ground Turkey (can also be made with Ground Chuck)
1 pkg Turkey Bacon
1 large white onion
2 jalapeno peppers
3 cloves of fresh garlic
1 can or small jar tomato sauce
1 can of beer
Chili powder
Olive Oil
Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt
Your favorite melty cheese

1. So, first thing, brown up the lean ground turkey and in a separate sizzle up the bacon. While the ground turkey is browning, shake three rounds of chili powder over the meat.

2. Transfer both over to a big pot and add the tomato sauce. Keep the heat of the pot on medium low.

3. Empty the can of black beans and kidney beans into the pot. Stir continuously.

4. Back to the pan, chop up the onion and garlic and toss into the pan, glazing with olive oil. Stir around the onion and garlic concoction with a wooden spoon continously until the onions turn clear.

5. Toss this concoction in the pot with the turkey, bacon and sauce. Let it all marinade on medium low.

Your kitchen, if it hasn't yet, will start to smell amazing!

6. Back to the cutting board, chop up the jalapenos (finely) and add to the pot.

7. Finally, add one can of beer, give a nice stir, turn the heat down super low, add the lid and let the chili marinade for 30-45 minutes.

Once you're ready to eat, you can eat this alone or toss over some tortilla chips to make nachos. Yum!

8. Add either sour cream or for a healthier option, ladies, add plain greek yogurt.

9. Top with your favorite cheese. I tried this the other night with a Port Salut, which is a buttery cheese. Might be better with a sharper cheddar, but try different things.

10. For the drink pairing, my recommendation would be a lighter beer like a Stella or Blue Moon. Not one so heavy that it takes away from the chili.

It's a great meal and very inexpensive. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts!!!

Happy Monday and hope this gets your week off to a great start!
