2004-04-25 10:55 AM Hi, my name is Laurie, and I'm a tvaholic Ok, Boston Rob is an idiot.
I can't help it. It's the one reality show I'm addicted to...Survivor. Course when Richard Hatch was still on there, I decided I wasn't going to watch it anymore until he was gone. What an irritating prick. But now, Rob is just the biggest idiot. His ego rivals Hatch's. If he plans on taking Amber to the final two with him, he'll be walking away a poor man. No one is going to pick Rob over her. If he was smart(did you just hear what I said...I can't stop laughing, I'm just too damn funny cuz the guy is as dumb as that stupid hat that sits on his head) he'd hitch his wagon to ShiAnn. That's the only person he's gonna be able to win against. She's the only one every one else hates more than him. And geez, if everyone in Boston is like Rob, I'm staying home. But hey, I found this new show...well, it's not too new, but I think it's so cool. Being the history whore that I am, it's right up my alley. It's on the PBS channel and it's called Manor House. It's like the Frontier House and the 1800's house, but this time they've taken them back to Edwardian England at the height of the Victorian Era. I find it fascinating. And it's most interesting to see that in just a short time, the have-nots are already resenting the haves with a vengence. To be a servant in that time period would be horrible. 16 hour days without any time off. I chuckle every time I see the chef, he looks like an anorexic Mr. Bean. The Victorian Era is intriquing to me. It was such a blatantly hypocritical era preaching morality while secretly living in debauchery and excess. These little PBS experiements are enlightening and really show what life was like in different times. I dare say, modern man would have a hard time dealing with many of the issues, much less the work. If you were wealthy, your life was good, if you were poor, your life was miserable. There's not much difference in that from then to today is there? Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
