2004-06-11 9:12 AM Family Ramblings Hey, ya'll see that Chick Flicks link on the side? Go there, submit! Just a few more days left.
So, my son is finally out of school. we've yet to hear how he's done, but i really doubt it was good. seems his biology teacher told him(who've i've never heard from all year and has never sent one single mid quarter report home)that if he just passes the last final they took last week, he'll pass the course for the whole year. never mind that he made d's and f's all year, they'll just slap him a passing grade and send him on his way. god, ya just gotta love public education in america(where we're on a middle school level in comparison to the rest of the world.) so anyhow, he comes in telling us he has to plan out his summer. "i'm going to start my summer off right" he tells us, "so i'm going to take a nap." *sigh* that's my kid. ok, so my sister in law's cheatin ass boyfriend decided he didn't want to live with her anymore. "we can still date" yeah, right. not only did he cheat, but he had ummm, let's just say some chemical problems, pretty hard core. basically, she was the First Bank of Carole, but "i still love him" at the same time, she has a crush on a guy she works with. he has a girlfriend/fiance which he supposedly is not happy with anymore. so he tells her he does have feelings for her. next thing i know, she pops up from sleep one day and says, "wow, i woke up this morning and i don't have any feelings for nick anymore." hmmmmm, quite a coincidence. i say, "then you didn't really love him the way you thought, because even if someone you love is horrible to you, you just don't wake up one day and say, i don't have any feelings for him anymore, it's not a toggle switch you can flip on and off." oh no, she assures me, she DID love him, she really did. oh, the ignorance of youth. man, it really pisses me off sometimes...lol... my sweet father in law goes to get gas one day last week. while at the station, there's a woman there with a little kid and a car full of belongings. she tells duane she's leaving her husband who was abusive, but she doesn't have any money for gas. she offers to sell him her tv. in typical duane fashion, he gives her some money and tells her to keep the tv. she asks for his address so she can repay him. he declines and says, "someone helped me out like this once, so you just help someone else someday." man, we need more duanes in the world.
