2004-08-17 5:42 PM submissions/an acceptance, a win, all lost in a blue fog Chick Flicks: an ezine that fills the void in publishing. We're looking for stories and essays that are moody, dark, real, gritty. You don't have to be a woman to submit to Chick Flicks, nor does your main character need to be a woman. Make us laugh, make us cry, make us hurt in the deepest, darkest parts of our souls. But most of all, be honest, raw, real. We prefer pieces of 1000 words or less, but we will consider longer works if queried first. Click below for full submission guidelines and schedule. Chick Flicks My satirical piece "Driving Queen Charlotte" was accepted by USADeepSouth.Com. It will be one of the featured articles for September. My story "There Is No God West of Fort Smith" won Third Place in the Southern Halloween Short Story Contest at Lost in the Dark. The issue will will be out October 1. All in all, not a bad month. I'm waiting on a few other things to trickle in, but those places said upfront that their response times were lengthy. Unfortunately, I just haven't had the will, the desire, the want, or even the gumption to write. I'm hoping it's just the weather. It's been rainy here for quite awhile. I'd never make it in Seattle for any length of time. so here's my recent sub record. I don't really have anything new to send out, and I don't have anything old left to send out, and I don't feel like editing anything to send out, so for now, this is it. Saf's making me look bad...hehe Rejected 15 Accepted 6 Still waiting 4 Defunct 1 Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
