2006-06-08 7:17 AM This and That gee, ok, i've been buried building pages. i'm almost done, well, not almost, but almost...lol...we have a really nice issue coming up and i'm fairly pleased (yes, fairly, because i just don't think i can ever be fully pleased with anything).
not a whole lot going on around here (see, i'm using this to put off what i need to finish) stanley cup update: yay! the hurricane's, in typical cardiac fashion, did manage to get past buffalo...it was a brutal series, the sabres are quite ruthless. it did come down to the last game, the last few seconds... now they're in the final series for the cup. i hate to say anything early, because hockey can be quite a heartbreaker of a game, but so far they've won two of the four games against the edmonton oilers. now i kind of have a soft spot for the oilers, as my chris pronger now plays for them, but pronger can't do it alone. it didn't hurt that in game one, a crash at the goal took out the oilers number one goalie. their back-up is struggling to say the least, especially considering carolina beat them 5-0. our captain, brind'amour, is like seventh on the all-time list of players who played the most games without winning a cup. he has the ole eye of the tiger, and his expression says that if he has anything to do about it(which he has, believe me), he will not be denied. let's go hurricanes! even tho the hurricanes weren't technically an expansion team when they came to carolina, it's pretty impressive that within ten years, they will have the cup(not to mention, this is their second finals in four or five years). the panthers need to watch and learn! and to think this southern-girl hockey fan may actually get to lay eyes on the stanley cup! wow! moving on...my friend, hadi, is pregnant. she's due within the next few days. cc and i went to see her yesterday, and take her little newborn one piece romper things. lol...they had moved, but i had no problem finding their new apartment complex, which is much nicer than the old one. she gave me the address and apartment letter over the phone. when we got there, we headed to apartment G. knock, knock, knock. finally some guy opens the door, i ask for hadi, no he doesn't know her (we had awaken him apparently). so we call hadi, tell her we're outside her building, but we don't know what apartment she's in. she was in J, which in French, is pronounced G. lol...i really should learn some French. the doctor told her if she hasn't delivered by fri, he wants to "give her an injection" she says she just won't go, because she doesn't want the shot, she wants it to be completely natural. she says she has seen a few women back home who had it, and their labor was really hard. i think anymore, over the last few years, they have learned not to give a big whopping dose, but just a small one to get it going (my niece was recently induced). i know what she's talking about because when i did my rotation through labor and delivery, women who had the pitocin did have strong, hard delieveries. we had to monitor the baby closely, because it can throw the baby in distress. i told her if she wants to avoid the medicine, she just needs to walk, walk, walk, walk, walk. of course ibriham, having been a nurse, told her the shot was nothing, but then again, ibriham has never been in labor, much less had labor artificially induced...just like a man! lol...anyway, she's just so damn cute and i'm really happy for her. they've chosen a name i can't pronounce, so i may just be calling the baby, F. lol btw, here's an old story of mine that was lost in Dead Mule's great server crash. yes, it's similar to one or two others i did, i definitely had a common theme back then, but it's filled with all the southern expressions i heard during my formative years in hicksville. Gossip now pass the moonshine, dammit! well, that's it for me. time to get my work done. y'all have a good one. Read/Post Comments (8) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
