2009-06-27 2:40 PM what's up not much, really. again, not sure i have much to say.
i finally got my tire situation dealt with, mostly. the junk yard didn't have a tire and rim for my car, so they gave me one for a van. i'm not sure how they figured that would work out. and it didn't. it bowed out the bolts on my wheel hub. well, i guess it helped long enough to get my car out of the abandoned building parking lot on a1a, but it didn't seem stable enough to drive for any period of time. i have since got another one, put on my own rim, and finally on my car. and the junk yard one needs to go back to the junk yard monday. a big thanks to scotty, nick and z-man for all their help. i'm not sure i could have managed by myself. 4th of july is coming up. in the last few years, it's really made not a wit's bit of difference to me, but i kind of find myself looking forward to it this year. i'm sure sam will cook out and she's a fantastic cook, better than i at only half my age. i'll chip in my usual baked beans or potato salad or something. only she doesn't like onions and i have to say it's not potato salad without the onions (nor baked beans for that matter) it's still soooo hot here. really more humidity than anything else. one night i sat on sam's patio and sweated without moving. thank goodness z has a fan that blows on him while he's working the track. z-man has a pet lizard of sorts. he's really just one of the many that are constantly roaming around outside...like hundreds of them, you can't walk anywhere without at least 3 zipping in front of you. they are like squirrels trying to cross the road. sometimes they don't make it and end up squashed under someone's foot. but steve, as z has named him, has taken up residence behind his computer desk. they are supposed to be good for keeping your house bug free, and since all of us seem to be having a massive gnat problem this year, hopefully steve will earn his keep. as for other things, i haven't been reading except for political news, and netta's great hotel hell work in progress. i haven't been writing, i was going to try to hammer out a couple of local stories for ac but haven't got around to them yet and time is running out, and i've only been watching a few things on the 'puter. my new thing is going through all of the arrested development series. oh my goodness but that show was soooo funny. i wish they hadn't canceled it. and i haven't been taking photos. i've taken pics of just about everything worth taking pics of here and since my car is not in the best of shape, i'm afraid to drive very far. well, see, that's about it for me. nothing new. i hope one and all have a great weekend!
