heh, not what you thought i was going to talk about.

i've never been much of a game player, especially video games. i do love trivial pursuit (and i'm quite good at it) and i liked to play risk.

about the only video games i played were mario cart (the original) and pool. a few people have invited me to play mob wars on facebook, including stacy, but i thought it would be too much of a time-sucker, like i need any more of that.

however, as i was reading my huffington post, i saw an ad for a game that intrigued me...evony.

it merges two things i like, world domination ala risk ala command and conquer (a game i never played but i liked watching the iceback play) and the days of lords, ladies and knights. so for just about the past week, i've been puttering around with it. i have a week of protection while i build my town/city, my population, resources and army. i've already joined an alliance for added protection and help. and i'm screwing over the serfs with my high tax rate (not really, i'm joking--but over half of those suckers are slackers and refuse to work)

it's slow going right now because i am building up my city. my protection ends thurs and then i'll be (hopefully) ready to rumble.

i should say that i haven't asked for help on any of this. there's not really instructions. so it tickles me to see people in the chat continuously asking questions. gracious, it's not rocket science and i don't even play games and can figure it out. and when it gets to the point where i have to start pillaging and plundering, i'll just ask people in my alliance what i need to do.

so anyway...here's my little town of Belovia, set in the Saxony valley (i actually have rock walls around my town but you can't see them until you zoom out on the map of the valley.)
