This year is, apparently, the year of the puzzle. LB got more puzzles than any other item as a birthday present, I'm pretty sure. I think he even got more puzzles than books, butI could be off a bit on that one. I haven't actually counted.

He got dinosaur puzzles, alphabet puzzles, ocean themed puzzles, even a city puzzle with car, truck, bus, and people shaped pieces.

And boy am I overwhelmed by all of the stuff he got. I think he would have been too. However, we took it slow. The birthday party was on Sunday, the 26th. When we got home from the party, he opened one gift and then took his nap. Then after his nap he opened a few more, but no rush and he had plenty of time to play with each gift before we moved on to the next one.

Then today we opened the rest of them. There was a bit of a push at the end because it was getting close to bedtime, but he persevered and seems to really like everything that he got.

He's lucky to have such thoughtful friends (and friends' parents).
