That's how long it's been since I left my ex-husband. Actually, it was two years on my birthday, but who's counting? I don't have any strong feelings about this, but it definitely feels kind of strange. I simultaneously feel like it's been a lot longer than that, and like it just happened. Weird.

Other thoughts surface. Most random thing that happened in Europe: riding in a big motorcoach from the Spanish seaside town of Cadaques to Figueres, over a long, twisty and narrow cliff-side road, with the Beach Boys' "California Girls" playing on the driver's preferred radio station.
