2004-06-19 6:48 PM Quail Ridge books - in the service of evil? Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: hmmmm Read/Post Comments (2) We started off the day at the post office, then went to Quail Ridge Books. I managed to get out after buying only two books (and putting two more back), but it was a naaaaarow squeak that I only spent $52 there instead of $77. Evil. I wanted the autographed novel Aloft from last time, and I kind of wanted an autographed Karen Joy Fowler, and then there were all those signed Kaye Gibbons books....
...and then I found the signed Alice Walker and put back everything else except that and the book I'd originally come for. Other exploits involved going to Whole Foods and buying a ginger spice chocolate bar and two bottles of perfume. OK, scented oil perfume stuff, 'cause I can't hack stuff that smells like baby powder or strong soap or, even worse, decent sandalwood drowned in alcohol. *shudder* Oh, and I bought a drill because it was on sale. If anyone manages to find my father I suppose I could give it to him. I just don't think he'll like the method of delivery. Ahem. Pretty trivial stuff, but I just had to gloat about the Alice Walker. Currently Reading: A Hatful of Sky> by Terry Pratchett Recommend: Bumper Crop by Joe Lansdale Stories out: 5 Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
