The toll of the autumn bells

Yeah, it's getting to be that time of year...much too busy for my own good. However, summer wasn't so balmy and carefree, either.

I just got assigned the paper presentation date for my Land Use Controls class. I will present my research paper the Monday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 29th. Hmm, is it me or does that sort of bombshell the holiday? Turkey day activities will be reduced to the following: typing, cursing, sit down to quick dinner (invited to two dinners, already), falling asleep at my laptop, waking up, peruse the leftovers, cursing some more, throwing together some garbled power point slides, wiping gravy off keyboard at timely intervals.

Other interesting things to note: going to Portland, OR next week to see my family and take care of some research issues for paper alluded to in Paragraph #2. I will watch the Marathon that Sunday from some lofty vantage point downtown (go, sis, go). Please, God, do not let it rain, I can't take standing in the rain for 4 hours waiting for a family member to slog it over the finish line...just in time to catch the 6pm shuttle to Oakland...and work for another couple hours at laptop until early hours of morning.

This is my life.
