Quest for the perfect coiffure

Tomorrow, Wednesday, is a day of treats for this desperate, unrested soul. Every seven weeks, actually, I pay a woman an inordinate sum to cut my hair. It's a ritual of sorts. It seems like I am there all the time.

Last year I found an exceptional salon on San Pablo Avenue, Barbarella Beauty Lounge...great place, great staff, great hairdos coming out of their door. Needless to say I am quite happy when I leave there. I might also add that my opinions are shared by others: the second year Master students last year (well, two of them, Ener and Marcus) voted that I had best hair in our department. Nuff said.

As of late, or since my last appointment a mere seven weeks ago, I have been interested in growing out my hair a bit in the back with shorter pieces all over the top. This inspiration comes from the Japanese students at CED, who overwhelmingly display deep cutted, slashed up, shiny, and erratic hair designs. Most especially the woman in our library. She actually has the BEST hair in CED, hands down, it is superb.

I do hope that by Christmas my mop will be a tad longer. Usually I scream in dismay at people who have long hair - but only because their hair is drab, one length, and otherwise boring. They need to do something with their Mary Ingalls hair. This longer hairdo that I have in mind is far from drab. In fact, it is lively and spunky.

I just wish it would come a little faster. After all, I do have a departmental hair title to maintain.
