2001-09-04 1:03 PM How about that? Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Surprised I found out this weekend that the first act of my spec TV pilot has been selected to be a part of the Scriptwriters Network's staged reading program. This program is set up to have scripts read by actors in front of a live audience. The Network is going to invite industry professionals to the event, have a reception, and my TV pilot will be read. Well, the first act, anyway. It will be one of four or five first-acts, and quite possibly the only TV spec of the bunch.
Cool. Oh, my god. My TV series is a fantasy adventure with the tentative title of Mortal Leaves on Magic Winds (yeah, I know, a mouthful), and this pilot ep is called "Once Upon a Time." I wrote it because I had to, and I would love for it to become a real TV series. That's as much a fantasy as my TV show! However, the episode still serves as good original spec material that I can shop to existing TV shows for freelance/staff work. And a director picked it out of a pile, to be a part of the staged reading. Pretty soon, I'm sure, I'll get that jittery, sinking-stomach feeling that comes along with the realization that it's going to be on public display in front of a bunch of people. It's almost as bad as public speaking. But in the meantime, I'm going to enjoy the thrill and excitement, and maybe even dream a bit about my own TV series. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
