I spoke with Jo-Ann very briefly today. She was on her way out the door and couldn't talk for too terribly long, but she did squeeze out a couple minutes for me. She read my script (a Buffy the Vampire Slayer spec from about season 3) and liked it.

OK, my hands can stop shaking now.

We're going to talk more on Monday sometime, but she had only two comments about the script. One, the typeface seemed a bit too light -- it made the actual script look old. Since people are kinda nutzy around here, she recommended using a slightly darker typeface. (She actually had someone not like a writer because they underlined the sluglines. It was a insignificant, stupid thing, but it caused the reader to not read the script seriously.)

The other thing Jo-Ann noticed was Buffy's height. I had listed 5'11" in my script. Either I just pulled a number out of my head, or meant to research it and neglected to follow up on that detail. Jo-Ann noticed it. I will now change it. (Sarah Michelle Gellar is 5'3", by the way.)

Other than that I certainly knew the characters and came up with a good story. So, Jo-Ann and I will talk on Monday. She wants to read some of my other material, and talk about who I've met and what I've done and where I want to go.

And then, we'll work on getting there.
