2003-01-03 5:16 PM So it's been a while Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Resolution-y Yep, it's been a while since my last post. That's simply because not much has happened that's newsworthy. No surprise calls, no new forward progress on the independent (that I know of), no amazing breakthroughs in contest. It's slow, slow, slow.
However, I've kept myself busy with the more mundane objectives that occupy most of my free time. I finished a first draft of a WWII movie in October, as well as rewrote my Crossing Jordan spec script. I'm doing a second draft of this rewrite, and will give it to JoAnn next week (along with more copies of my Buffy spec, and a copy of the independent script about which she knows nothing). I've been reading and re-reading my WWII movie because there's something "off" on it that I haven't been able to capture. I called JoAnn to take her out to lunch and discuss strategy for my career -- both film and television. She and I are working on getting me on a show for 2003, but I still have a few features that I'd love to get out there and read. We kept missing each other in December, so lunch is now on tap for next week. I did a bout of intensive coverage for someone. This is always a good exercise in both patience and analysis. It makes me exercise those muscles that I use on my own work, to identify strengths and weaknesses, and to fix said weaknesses. I've also enrolled into a mentoring class, in order to prep me for the staffing season. I'll post weekly about these classes, however I already have homework. I need to make lists. Lists of my scripts, lists of people I know, and lists of what I want to accomplish in the next 6 weeks, 6 months and longer. So, here's to a new year in which there are more beginnings than endings, eh? Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
